About Us

The Anglican Diocese of Wellington, Stretching from Wellington to Palmerston North, Whanganui, and all the Wairapa, and  is committed to sharing Christ with young people. Our goal is to disciple young people so they can then disciple their peers. For us; supporting youth is a top priority.

We do this by supporting, training, and enabling the people throughout the lower North Island who work in youth ministry. They may work as volunteers or in paid positions.  Offering training and guidance to develop a growing group of skilled youth workers and helpers across the Diocese is seen as a  paramount goal.

There is a resource unit for this ministry based at the Wellington Diocese Office where you can source various resources from. We will also come to you with resources and support if need be, just contact us to organise a visit.

We also equip young people in their faith, and challenge them to think about their futures, by organising mission outreach trips, live-in weekends, and other specialised programmed events. For more information please see the events page.

Consultation is provided in relation to the leadership, managment and development of faith communities in order to help them develop a sustainable youth ministry, and training opportunities.

Developing partnerships and building relationships with like minded organisations in the local communities is also a key part of our role here in the Diocese. Below are links to websites of some of the organisations that we working alongside.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

- Matthew 22:36 - 39
